At Mavericks High the Mavericks Management System [MMS] provides online web-based access to a series of comprehensive assessments that test students in core curricular subject areas - Mathematics, Literature and the Arts, Writing, Science, and Social Sciences. Pretests pinpoint individual student skill deficiencies and assist teachers in assigning lessons that develop those skills.
After students progress through the self-paced lesson material, post-tests measure and record academic gains, indicating whether students have displayed mastery of the lesson material. Students may also be given paper and pencil exercise assessments and tests to both enrich the learning experience and well as to further confirm subject mastery.
Mavericks’ believes firmly that a blended academic program that includes both electronic multimedia curriculums along with paper-based curriculum provides the most challenging and effective academic program for the students we serve.
Our flexible program provides a wide array of electronic curriculum resources. Through our multifaceted curriculum approach, we offer an individualized self-paced program. We provide for all types of learners including students who may need to begin at primary grade levels to build or rebuild solid fundamentals.

The philosophy of Mavericks High is to provide all students the opportunity to complete their high school graduation requirements and succeed in a career of their choice or to pursue post-secondary education. The workload is different than the traditional high school, as many students will have jobs or be focusing on advancing their career skills, in addition to completing academic requirements for a diploma.
Students are offered the opportunity to participate in career/post-secondary explorations and/or social and life management skills development. Students will also participate in the Florida Ready to Work Certification Program, (F.S. 1004.99). Determining the readiness of each student in the workplace provides data for the Family and Career Coordinator to develop a prescriptive plan to differentiate support for success. This support will present itself in the form of direct instruction, student self assessment, student research and active search of employment. Career Preparation and Placement is considered a part of the daily instructional program.
Additionally, all students will be required to utilize FACTS.org for career, college and technical school planning. Students without a completed ePEP will be guided through the process to do so. This data will serve as a baseline from which student plans will be developed, monitored and adjusted as individual goals are set and accomplished.
Maverick’s High extensive use of technology and online learning better prepares students for workplace technology and continuing education. Even the most conventional universities and academic institutions have now recognized the need to deliver academics online.
